A breaking New York City four-piece, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart play sweet & noisy pop with boy/girl vocals, blissful melodies and blistering drums. Critics cite influences of new wave, shoegaze-pop and dance-punk, that combine to create “beautiful and perfect and wonderfully genuine” music which typifies “everything that’s great about indiepop at the moment.”

The Brooklyn duo Zaza are reminiscent of the great UK shoegaze bands like Ride, Loop, and France’s Air.

Ribbons are also a Brooklyn duo with a focus on drum rhythms with melodic guitar licks and vocals stylised like Patti Smith.
