Winard Harper

Join us for an outdoor concert with Winard Harper. A major figure in the jazz community for over three decades, drummer Winard Harper is well known for his work with giants like Betty Carter, Dexter Gordon, Billy Taylor, and Jimmy Heath, and for the leadership of his own groups, including the Harper Brothers and Jeli Posse. He is the musical director for Jazzmobile, helped revive the famous club Bill & Ruth’s in Jersey City, has won numerous awards and has been credited by Damien Chazelle, director of Whiplash, with inspiring that film with a moving drum solo.

Bring a blanket or chair and a picnic.

Please let us know you’re coming. RSVP at mgpjazz.eventbrite.com.
