Tito Nieves

Tito Nieves

With more than three decades of musical history behind him, Humberto “Tito” Nieves – the “Pavarotti” of Salsa – is still going strong. In 2011, the Puerto Rican-born, NYC-raised star launched his very own record label, Tito Nieves Music Corp. with the release of his 30th studio album, Mi ultima grabacion. Lead single, “Eres Linda” roared onto the Latin Billboard Tropical Airplay chart in its first week and became his 26th chart entry. Nieves began his career with Orquesta Cimarron before joining the Hector Lavoe Orchestra, and later, Conjunto Clasico, where he shared the stage with Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. In 1988, Nieves set out as a solo artist and was signed to the legendary RMM Records. His first album with the label, Classic, which included the hit “Sonambulo,” earned him his first of many Gold Records. Throughout his career Nieves has incorporated English into his recordings as he has defied the language barrier with his versatility and crossover appeal. His music speaks to the hearts and minds of people everywhere, regardless of the language they speak. Tito counts among his plethora of recognition, three Ace Awards, a Premio Lo Nuestro, and several GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY award nominations.
