This Stoop Series program will feature a discussion with three of Brooklyn’s leading figures in Hip Hop. Brooklyn Hip Hop Festivalproducer Wes Jackson, solo artist and Black Star co-founder Talib Kweli, and author/filmmaker Nelson George take a deep dive into how the scene developed and where its headed next. Immediately following there will be a meet and greet with the panelists and a book signing of Nelson George’s The Hippest Trip in America, an authoritative history of the groundbreaking syndicated television show Soul Train.
