The David Glukh Klezmer Ensemble is one of the most unusual groups of its kind. Eclectic by repertoire and design, the group’s instrumentation is piccolo trumpet (a unique instrument – twice as short as a regular trumpet), accordion, violin, bass and percussion.

The ensemble has performed worldwide to critical acclaim. Their performances include traditional klezmer music along with special “fusions” between klezmer and other musical traditions of the world (Irish, Gypsy, Classical, Latin, Jazz, Georgian, Middle-Eastern, Chinese, Macedonian, Israeli, Hassidic, Russian, Funk, Tango, Flamenco, Indian, etc.) and improvisational world-beat.

The group has performed in prestigious concert venues such as Merkin Concert HallAlice Tully Hall in New York’s Lincoln CenterWharton Center for Performing Arts in Michigan, Skirball Center for the Arts in Los Angeles, among others. Today’s program will provide a healthy dose of traditional Klezmer along with special Purim selections. David Glukh Klezmer Ensemble has performed in concerts and special events in over 40 states and has released two critically acclaimed albums.
