globalFEST, one of the most catalytic world music events in North America, goes on the road, taking over multiple locations at Lincoln Center with a globe and genre-spanning line-up in a day-long celebration.

BaianaSystem

The guitarra baiana, the little wonder guitar that powers Northeastern Brazil’s carnival, makes it big with this Bahian group’s high-intensity balancing act between Afro-Brazilian roots, Jamaican dub, and hip hop.

The Bombay Royale

This Technicolor big band of international mystery mugs, surfs, and gyrates through theatrical originals inspired by the mid-century golden era of Bollywood.

Pupy y Los Que Son Son

Seasoned bandleader César “Pupy” Pedroso, the founding pianist and songwriter from the legendary supergroup Los Van Van, takes Cuban music from its sweet son start to its funky, dance-inducing timba present.

Emil Zrihan

The spectacular Morocco-born, Israel-based countertenor marries Arabic mawal and Jewish cantorial music as he soars through Sephardic and Judeo-Andalusian songs with riveting passion and breathtaking improvisional flights.
