Savion Glover featuring Marcus Gilmore

A meeting of masters occurs in this inspired double-bill, combining intricate percussion with funk-focused tap artistry. Named “the greatest virtuoso of our time, perhaps of all time” by The New Yorker, renowned tap dancer Savion Glover exploded onto the scene at the age of 11 in Bring in ’da Noise, Bring in ’da Funk, for which he won a Tony. At MetroTech, he joins forces with drummer Marcus Gilmore—an heir to jazz royalty as grandson of iconic drummer Roy Haynes—a dynamic musician who frequently plays with luminaries like Chick Corea, Pharoah Sanders, Vijay Iyer, and Ravi Coltrane.
