Make Music New York’s 9th Annual Punk Island, a celebration of all things punk! This year, back on Governors Island. (Ferries from Battery Park on the half-hour).
For eight hours, bands will blanket Governors Island. The best way to understand what makes Punk Island such a special event is to attend and see the intensity and heart that all the bands, collaborators, fans, and community organizers bring to the day. Punk Island bridges the gaps between all the vibrant underground DIY scenes in NYC and the collective works hard all year to bring you the most expansive, not-for-profit, (arguably best) punk fest of the summer.

How to Get to Punk Island
Governors Island is accessible by ferry service. All other trips carry a There is a $2 round trip fare for adults and children over the age of 12. Tickets may be purchased in-person at the ticket offices. Please note that certain ferry rides on June 21st are free of charge: from Manhattan at 10 AM, 11 AM and 11:30 AM; from Brooklyn at 11 AM and 11:30 AM.
From Manhattan: The Governors Island ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan. To get there on the subway, take the 1 to South Ferry, 4, 5 to Bowling Green, or the R to Whitehall St. Ferries leave from Manhattan at 10 AM, 11 AM and then every half hour from 11:30 AM until 6:30 PM. Ferries return to Manhattan at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM and then every half hour from 12 PM until 7 PM.
From Brooklyn: The ferry from Brooklyn leaves from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, located at the foot of Atlantic Avenue (corner of Columbia Street). To get there on the subway, take the 2,3,4,5 to Borough Hall, A,C,F to Jay St./Borough Hall, or the R to Court Street, and walk west to the water. Ferries run at 11 AM, and then once an hour starting at 11:30 AM. The last ferry returns to Brooklyn at 7 PM.
