This New York City funk septet balances ultra-tight musicianship with off-the-cuff improvisation, bringing together deep bass grooves, blurry jazz chords, and the bluesy wail of Romanian-born frontwoman Ioana Vintu. The group’s impressive lineup also includes alto saxophonist extraordinaire Andrew Gould, who was a semifinalist at the 2013 International Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition. They take the stage at BAMcafé in advance of the release of their upcoming sophomore album.
