Hector’s Pets is a band of Brooklyn misfits that create guitar-heavy, catchy power pop gems for deadbeats and degenerates alike. Their killer debut LP “PET-O-FEELIA”, expertly produced by Dave Rahn for Oops Baby Records (with a cassette to follow on Burger Records), utilizes a lo-fi garage sound with non-stop hooks, serious guitar riffs, surfed-out ooh-laa-laa’s and beater-sportscar choruses. It’s the perfect soundtrack for cutting class, getting stoned in your dad’s van and making out with your best bud’s girlfriend. Their look might be rocker party dude (think Hawaiian shirts with leather jackets, long scruffy hair and sunglasses after dark) and the sound might be retro but make no mistake about it: 2014 is the Year of the Pets.
