Executive Chef Brian Tsao brings a unique set of skills to the kitchen at Mira Sushi & Izakaya. With a Chinese-Korean background, American upbringing and culinary education – he graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and worked at Telepan , Brian brings influences from China, Korea, and the US to the Japanese izakaya concept. Melding these influences seamlessly into an adventurous, delicious menu of Asian street-food inspired dishes that take a traditional concept in an exciting modern melting pot direction makes Brian a talented, innovative chef to watch. His mission as a chef is to “remove the stereotypes of Asian cuisine, make good, interesting but still authentic food and keep things approachable.” Brian has appeared on CBSTV, Fox 5′ Good Day New York, Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay.
