Exploring common roots and diverging paths of music from the Mississippi Delta to the Capibaribe delta in Northeastern Brazil, Deltas spins fresh sonorities from classic blues grooves and baião rhythms. Led by Brazilian musician Dirceu Melo, the band uses a wide range of instruments such as the Turkish baglama, melodica, and guitars with open tuning to forge new 21st-century frontiers for these historically rich musical traditions.
