Bobby Rush

Born in Louisiana, singer Bobby Rush started out as a bluesman on Chicago’s West Side before transitioning to clubs that better accommodated his increasingly bawdy style, captured in songs like “Bowlegged Woman, Knock-Kneed Man” and “Chicken Heads.” Drawing from a long tradition of jesting, signifying, and onstage theatrics, the Chitlin’ Circuit veteran returns to MetroTech to perform his trademark Southern-fried folk-funk fusion, oozing pure R&B spectacle.
