Blazer Sound System, Permanent Love

Blazer Sound System is a warrior reggae sound that originated in the high desert of Northern New Mexico, where our custom speakers were built.

In the tradition of Jah Shaka, Blazer operates in a love creation style, holding all night dub sessions with strictly heavyweight vinyl, analog effects, and custom Blazer dubplates. As they call it, “Dub from the Mountain and Mesa”.

Operated by Colorado natives Nathan Corbin (Zebrablood, Excepter, HTRK) and Tony Lowe (Rainstick, Sun Araw), Blazer has a southwestern spiritual focus but a decidedly urban sound, with a focus on tuff reggae produced in NYC and London in the 1970s and 80s.

Sessions have been held in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, yoga centers in Brooklyn, artist lofts in Baltimore, Austin, Manhattan and more, and often feature live melodica performance by collaborator Addis Pablo (son of dub legend Augustus Pablo) as well as guests Awesome Tapes from Africa, Brian DeGraw (Gang Gang Dance), Highlife, and Mattheww (RVNG Intl.)

The Blazers are set to release their first original riddim on 10″ vinyl in late 2014, as well as make several festival appearances over the summer.

Give thanks and praises i-ternally.
