Kansas-born tenor Ben Bliss’s “lovely, caressing tone” (Opera News) makes him ideal for the most mellifluous tenor roles. This season, he sings Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Metropolitan Opera and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at LA Opera. A versatile performer who shapes each phrase with elegance and intelligence, Bliss also excels in bel canto opera, song, and sacred music. For this recital, he is joined by collaborative pianist and conductor Lachlan Glen, whose recent album with tenor Kyle Bielfield, Stopping By, debuted at number five on iTunes’s list of new and noteworthy classical albums.
