On August 8, 2008, 176 drummers in Los Angeles and Brooklyn performed an 88 minute composition by Yamantaka Eye of the Boredoms. The performance was a follow-up to Yamantaka Eye’s 77 Boadrum which had taken place on July 7, 2007 at Fulton Ferry Park, Brooklyn. Drummers selected for the performance were split into two groups of 88 with the Boredoms leading the group at the La Brea Tar Pits, Los Angeles and Gang Gang Dance leading the group at East River State Park, Brooklyn. Soft Circle’s Hisham Bharoocha assumed the role of concert director. The performance was coordinated by a video broadcast which attendees could view in both locations. And the performance was free.
