Celebrated classically-trained composer-musician Dave Eggar’s chamber quartet collaborates with the skilled martial arts masters and students of Kai Leung’s Shotojuku Dojo from Queens in a spectacular display of the physical and the musical. Showcasing works from George Crumb’s Voice of the Whale and celebrating 200 years of Schumann and Chopin, the musicians and martial artists embrace balance and discipline to create unforgettable harmonies while executing the deadly but beautiful movements of Shotokan Karate-do, led by James Luk and Sensei Kai Leung.
