Local favorite Yeasayer brings their self styled “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel” to Pier 54. Pulling from every spectrum of music and mashing, then re-mashing, Yeasayer have bent genres until they’ve become unrecognizable. The Brooklyn-based band manages to make experimentalism playful rather than pretentious by harnessing tricky world-music influences.
Brooklyn’s Amazing Baby boasts a “now” sound that flips through static-y channels broadcasting acid rock, electro, wailing prog, and stomping, Suede-esque Britpop. The band’s much anticipated debut album “Rewild” is due on June 22.(Source)
