2009: The Year in Free Concerts: Siren Music Festival

sirenWith all of the changes that are happening in Coney Island, it’s good to see Siren Music Festival and Mermaid Parade are still going strong. The Village Voice delivered another great Siren Music Festival for 2009. Built to Spill and Spank Rock headlined the Siren this year. One of the memorable parts of the festival is when Amanda Blank had taken the stage with Spank rock. The best thing about the festival is the fact you spend your day watching performances by bands like The Raveonettes, Bear Hands, Frightened Rabbit, A Place to Bury Strangers, Monotonix, Japandroids, Grand Duchy all for free.
