Lily Virginia

Lily Virginia’s delicately powerful voice and carefully crafted lyrics hold a strength in their raw vulnerability. With artistic influences from all over the map (Bon Iver, Fleetwood Mac, Pixies, Cesária Évora etc.) she plays her own brand of alternative folk-pop, bringing together americana, rock, pop, and subtle world accents, to sing her confessions and create a transcendent live experience.

Raised in the wild hippie west of California, Lily has lived a few different lives. From studying music in South America, to cross country travels, to love, heartbreak, and magic, she’s carefully folded these experiences into her knapsack of songstories. She unpacked her bag in Brooklyn and has called it home ever since.

She released her debut EP in March 2014 and is currently recording her second album. This album, ‘Play Me Twice,’ is drawn from her live performances and defines a new sound that contains both ethereal shimmers and visceral rhythms, leaning towards a minimalistic sound where every note has its own purpose and place.

Supported by her full band, Lily Virginia has played all over NYC at venues such as Highline Ballroom, Rockwood Music Hall, Cameo Gallery and Pete’s Candy Store as well as throughout the NorthEast. An accomplished songwriter, she participated in the BMI Songwriters Workshop last year and has had her music placed in film and on major network TV (ABC).
