The Black Rock Coalition proudly pays tribute to four powerful forces, taking inspiration from monumental performances in each of their careers and honoring women from across the entire African Diaspora, featuring Jayne Cortez, Tamar-Kali, Abena Koomson, Alkebulan, and others.

The Louisiana Renegades are a coming-together of some of the leading Creole and Cajun musicians standing in defiance of racism, including Christine Balfa, Dirk Powell, and Kevin Wimmer of Balfa Toujours along with Zydeco star Preston Frank and others.

Blending early rock ’n’ roll, Mexican folk music, R&B, and blues, Augie Myers, Flaco Jimenez, and Shawn Sahm reunite the Tex-Mex supergroup Texas Tornados to pay tribute to their late collaborator Doug Sahm, of the groundbreaking Sir Douglas Quintet.

Arturo O’Farrill leads his Afro-Cuban Sextet, joined by Fania legend Larry Harlow “El Judio Maravilloso,” Andy Gonzalez (Fort Apache Band), Irving Fields (Bagels and Bongos), Jeremiah Lockwood (The Sway Machinery and Balkan Beat Box), Sandra Velasquez (Pistolera), Michael Alpert (Brave New World), and the Antibalas horns to recreate the great cross-cultural mash-up, Mazel Tov, Mis Amigos, the soon-to-be-rereleased 1961 recording of “Yiddish favorites in a Latin tempo.”
