2009 was the first Summer for JellyNYC to hold their Pool Parties in the East River State Park since McCarren Park Pool had been closed by the city for renovations. The surroundings may have been different, but the music line-up was good as any other year. Some of the stand out performances this year were by Dirty Projectors, Black Lips, Fiery Furnaces, Max Tundra, Del The Funky Homosapien, Beach House and Grizzly Bear. There was even a surprise appearance by Beyonce, Solange and Jay Z at the Grizzly Bear show.
